Right steve, you need to go bck to A/E to get this injured finger checked out and x-rayed.Some fractures are worst then others, some need manipulating bck in to place and other fractures need just taping together. In the mean time get some elaster plaster and a piece of gause (dressing) fold the dressing in half and place the dressing in between the injured finger and the nxt finger, get the plaster and cut two pieces long enough to go round both fingers, tape two fingers together one nr the nail area and the other just above the knuckles, this will help until you go bck to the A/E dept, but you should get this seen to just incase its a serious fracture,oh and dont get the plaster and dressing wet.Good Luck

I've broken my fingers a few times. Just tape it to the next finger for about 10 days then just take it easy on it .

Steve I am no expert, but usually they tape it to the finger nearest. Nice and snug.
I think I would have rather waited at A&E.

Second question, Steve, what did you have that finger in or doing when it was broken?

Strap the bad finger to the finger next to it and wrap a bangage round it. Make sure its tight enough to limit movement but not too tight to cut of the circulation! also dose yourself up on Nurofen!

You're better off being seen for it "just in case", but it you don't want to wait and if it's not displaced, tape it to the other one and don't move it for a few weeks. Stick a popsicle stick on it and tape it up. Chances are all they would do in the ER is xray it and do that. Just try not to use it. Put some ice on it to reduce any swelling.

grow a new one.....
seriously you should get it x-rayed.... otherwise you're just surmising that its broken, if it is then they usually strap the finger to the next one ... thus acting like a splint.....
go get it checked though

it should be splinted in a&e and you should take pain killers if needed. otherwise it heals itself with time.
