Normally it is raining in Copenhagen that time of the year, but not non stop. The wind comes normally from west and not from the sea. Normally you just need an jacket, not more.
The alcohol is a little bit more expensive than in Germany. Just above 10 Pound Sterling for a bottle of Whiskey. A GLASS OF BEER at a PUB cost about 20 to 30 DDK. 3 to 6 US dollar, it depends were you go. Could be cheaper. If you cross the Sound by train to Malmö alcohol is more expensive down town. But at Mollevangstorget less than 2 km from the railway station I found a lot of interesting PUB and restaurants. It is almost to be coming to the orient. Low prices and good food can be found here. I also found out that hotels were much cheaper here. The people in Malmö are very friendly as well as in Copenhagen.

Envisage Scotland at that time of year, and you'll have a fair idea of what clothing you'll need. It will be colder than SE England, and often rain or drizzle. Dress warmly in layers so you can peel them off as needed when you go inside buildings. Gloves are a good idea, too, because the wind off the water can be very chilling. Do pack an umbrella. I hope you enjoy Copenhagen; it's a lovely city.

Take all your warmest clothes and think layers, i.e. thin shirt, thick shirt, sweater, wind-proof jacket from North Face or similar, long underpants (male)/thick nylon-stockings (female), warm pants, thick socks and warm boots, warm hat, gloves and scarf.
It may or may not be very cold, but it often gets down to sub
-zero (celcius) degrees in December. It gets dark by four o'clock in the afternoon, which means it is even colder. It could also be up to eight degree celsius, but if you think in layers, you can allways peel of or add a layer.

Extremely cold. Because it's on the sea the wind whips in and chills you to the very bone. It's beautiful on a sunny day, but I have rarely been so cold in my life.
Take a great many layers and a big hat. Wear thick socks and get thermal insoles.
