Hmmm.... If you earn your wealth honestly, you succeed through hard work, and if your reputation is borne of your integrity - you don't fear losing it because those things will always come back to you by virtue of your character.

The only people who fear losing them are the people who fear living without them.

Most of these answers are BS. The fear of loss is no different for a wealthy person as it is for anyone else - the fact is, most wealthy people become that way because their fears are generally less than that of Joe public.

Self-made wealth individuals (i.e. those that did it themselves) have a quality that sets them apart from everyone else, and that is understanding how they acquire what they do. You could take away all their money and that skill still remains -- it wouldn't be long before they were back at the same level.

What wealthy people DO face (and this isn't just for criminals), is an increased external force to take away those riches... whether by your so-called "friends", government, thieves, scam artists, sales men, whatever. Money forces these people out of the woodwork, and tests the true personalities of the people around you.

I'd disregard most answers you've read here. These people clearly haven't ever had that much to lose, and don't know what they're talking about.

It depends. If you have acquired the above 4 with hard work, you will never lose it and it will never become a threat but, if even any 1 of the 4 are earned through illegal ways then. whatever you do, you will have a threat of losing it.

So, if everybody in this world acquired Wealth, Rich, Success and Reputation through hard work, we will not have,

1) Crimes
2) Anger towards others
3) Selfishness
4) Hatred among family members
5) Fear of death and many others.

So, we can see in the practical world how, when one of the 4 are taken from others illegally, the recipient will lose them very soon and maybe sacrifice his life too.

There's more than that. Having everything you want isn't always wanting what you have. Also, having everything you want gives the flase sense of worth. People with low self-worth crave external validation. Then, add the problem if living to work , rather than working to live, in order to maintain the lifestyle. It's all realtive, though. Some people equate wealth with success. Others see it differently. For some, success=happiness with what their doing, and it pays the bils.

It's a saying. If people have wealth, riches (in other ways such as perfect, or near perfect, health), success, and reputation, few people are totally happy---they always want more. Let them lose one or all of these, and they feel ruined. It's the d***med if you do, d***med if you don't syndrome.

No, if you conscience is clear and it really belongs to you. For example if you work hard to have these riches, success and reputation. Another thing is inheritance. If these are rightfully yours, you will live with them naturally and do not have that kind of feeling.

No...there is the fear of being killed for it. The fear of not being liked for yourself. The fear of people treating you differently. The fear of living up to it. Etc etc etc
