t's been among the worst defeats the Indian XI suffered in recent times.
Wednesday's drubbing in Durban -- where the team folded for a paltry 91 runs, within 30 overs -- rankles, and how.
The promising coach-captain combine of Greg Chappell and Rahul Dravid, which began with a string of victories, seems to have lost steam over the last few matches.
The defeat also comes with the return of master batsman Sachin Tendulkar -- often hailed as the greatest -- to the Indian XI after a long layoff due to injury.
Is the excess 'experimentation' in the batting order, indulged in by the coach, who allegedly bulldozes his way with the captain, to blame? Our Members of Parliament seem to think so.
On Thursday, an irate bunch of MPs clamoured for Chappell's head in Parliament, asking Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar -- who also heads the Board of Control for Cricket in India -- to intervene by sacking the coach.
What do you think needs to get done to stem the rot?

This is the first time the members of parliament have raised their concern over cricket issues and they are justified. I believe the cricketers doing duty in S.Africa have protested against this saying that parliament should concern themselves with more important issues. What can be more important than cricket for this cricket crazy nation ? There is also this slowly creeping loss of faith in superstar Sachin who was worshipped like a demi god. Chappell should start counting the marbles left in his pocket. Dravid needs stronger men with him and at the moment there are only men with strong bank balances and weak knees around. BCCI and selectors have finally taken a stiff stand. Kudos to them for this !

Yes,
BUT
Real solution is,
Define performace on batting and balling, like Shri DRAVID / RAVI Shastri will play 100 balls to make 10 runs. It is (negative) -100 out of 100 marks. And then
(A)
FOR PLAYERS:
1)
[Pay - kick back ] be proportional to performance.
( if negative take money back from the player)
and
2)
the best performer of the match will be the captain in the next match ie rolling captain.
if the team is defeated
2 worst performer from batting
2 worst performer from bowling
1 all rounder ( if not performed well)
1 wicket keeper ( if not performed well)
shall be changed without any argument by any political parties.
(B)
FOR
COACH,
SELECTOR,
BCCI,
1)
if the team win the test/ ODI series it will continue
2)
if the team loose the test/ ODI series new CAPABLE will step in and all in the capacity of
COACH,
SELECTOR,
BCCI
Those non-performers and INCAPABLES shall be changed without any argument by any political parties.

its a nice question
indian team has been playing at its worst these days
you dont feel that indian team is playing ,but instead it feels like a
bangladeshi team playing.
Firstly the BCCI must stop players from signing ,from which they
earn a lot,so that they can concentrate on the game
Secondly, they must stop the players from going to fashion
shows and elsewhere.
In one of the interviews of chappel he said that they players are
very casual they dont practice properly and just roam around.
next thing would be inclusion of ganguly and must make him a
vice- captain so that there will be some aggressive used as
dravid is too light on the players.
hope indian team comes back to orignal from

Only by changing the coach or the Captain, things will not improve. The players should perform to their potential. What I feel is that the present team should continue to play the One Day series in South Africa. Even if they loose, if the youngers can get exposure and improve their performance, it will be good in the interest of the team especially we are trying to build up a team for the World Cup.
For the test series in South Africa, Saurav Ganguly and Laxman should be included in place of of Mongia and Raina. If Ganguly and Laxman perform well in the Test series, they should be included in the One day squad for the one day series against Sri Lanka and West Indies. By doing so, we can assess the capability of different players to build up a bench strength for the World Cup.
I further feel that players should be made accountable for their performance and their payment should be linked to their performance. Once players know that their payment will be subject to their performing well, they will not take things for granted and forced to perform well.

All you Indian supporters should give your team a break.Don't keep knocking them. They are not trying to lose they are in the game to win!All teams go through a form slump that can last up to 12 months.Give them your total support and don't make them feel as though you have deserted them. That'st the FIRST thing you should do.

BCCI is the richest cricket board, the players worry about only money, because apart from cricket they are model. Never bothered about the expectation of people and country. Learn from Australia, Pakistan... Please be awake.
