I am originally from Athens but I have lived in authentic Macedonia (the Greek Macedonia) for 3 years (in Thessaloniki). I still visit authentic Macedonia (the Greek-Macedonia) and it is one of the most beautifully parts of Greece!
{Entire north Greece is the province of Macedonia (in proper Greek “Mακεδονία”).
Do not confuse real Macedonia in Greece with a small state that emerged from Yugoslavia. That small state is called Republic of Makedonija (its own name!!) or Fyrom (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia)(the international name) or Slavic/Albanian Macedonia! {Republika Makedonja is officialy translated by UN (and oficially recognized by UN and Eropean Union) as Former Ygoslavic Republick of Macedonia (FYROM). That small Slavic state has a city called Skopije as it capital }.
