I completely understand. I seem to have a window of opportunity to fall asleep, if I miss it, I am in trouble! I work night shift and if I don't get to sleep in the morning by 9:00, I might as well forget it. Benedryl works well for me and it is supposed to be non-habit forming. I take it when I miss my "window of opportunity." Good luck!

Go to bed when you're sleepy-tired, not when it's time to go to bed by habit.
Wind down,don't get involved in any kind of anxiety provoking activities or thoughts.
Do some breathing exercises or try to relax major muscle groups, starting with the toes and ending with your forehead.
Sleep difficulties can mean that their is an underlying problem that needs treatment.
Contact your physician or mental health professional.
Let them know what is happening in your life. Your problem may have either organic or psychological contributors. Sleep disorders are classified as chronic if they persist more than one month.

what's on your mind? something must have been distracting you to not fall asleep all night long. Even if you catch a 20 min nap at this point it will help you get through your day. Does it have anything to do w/ the fact that you're addicted to Y/A's?

When you cant sleep get up and do something different until you feel tired again, watch TV read a book, have a warm milk and a natural sedative is valerian available from all good health food stores.
