If you lived in Iran, being a a white man, what are the odds that you would be treated the same as are the Muslims? Not very good, are they? What are the odds that you would not be killed? Just as bad. We live in a society where people are treated differently--yes, but on the whole they're treated much better than they could be. There has always been race and ethnic exclusion--even in our work-places today, people tend to sit near their own race or ethnicity at lunch time. Why? Because that's where they feel more comfortable. People feel uncomfortable around people of other races or ethnicities, so they treat those people differently. People still fear that which is dissimilar to them, or that which they fear, but there has been some progression--it's not like we're raising pitchforks against them anymore. So we're getting somewhere.

If you are talking about Muslims living in Europe and America I think it is in part because most of them are immigrants and never seem able to say " Hey what I have here is good. Could be a heck of a lot better, but I am grateful for what I have got!'
From that grows tolerance. Moaning and winging does not aid their case for religious tolerance.Yes , others moan as well, but it is the same as withing a family- you put up with a lot more from those who are close to you.
I do understand that to a certain extent it is a cultural heritage thing.
I live in a Muslim country and although I love my friends and my new country, I do find the glass half empty attitude in all aspects of life very wearying.
So, not the religion, but the culture they originally emanated from to blame.

I think that people are afraid of the Muslims because we don't understand their way of life. We think how horrible it must be to be the women and children of that country and you never know what they might be thinking about us. I think that September 11th intensified that fear of the unknown in a lot of people in this world. I definitely do not think that most of the Muslims have deserved the backlash that they have gotten for the few of them that have some pretty deranged ideas on getting back at the USA. For whatever it was that caused that horrible horrible day for not only the US but every country that lost people, that includes those hijackers. The rest of the Muslims don't need to continually pay for the choices of those men that day.

First why are you assuming that there are not white Muslims. I am white and I am Muslims. Being Muslim does not mean you belong to a certain race.

Second as to why we get treated different I blame it on the media and those misguided Muslims. When a Muslim does something it is all they talk about Muslim this and Muslim that. But when a Christan does something his religion is never mentioned. And these misguided Muslims are making Islam look bad.

Thirdly as to why these Muslims did this I can only say that they did not one day wake up and decide to go blow something up. Something has to push a person really far to do such a thing. And me sitting here in my nice warm house in front of my computer can not answer that. My kids have not been killed, my house is still standing, my spouse was not raped or murdered in front of my eyes, ect.......

Firstly a Muslim means submitting to God and obeying the laws he has set for mankind..... By your own "choice".
We never create ourselves God created us so he knows whats best for us so a wise person will follow his laws.
Secondly Muslims are not a race there are Muslims of many different races. Did you know that Arabs only make 15% of the 1.5 billion Muslims in the world! the highest Muslim population are in Indonesia.Islam is a way of life for EVERYONE on the face of the planet. Allah teaches us in Quran that we are all equal and that the more righteous you are the more value you hold in Allah's eyes.So Muslims are treated different because there are so many ignorant people out there who lack a lot of knowledge of Islam.If you would like to know more facts about Islam visit www.Harun yahya.com then go to movies on the home page and also www.watch islam.com then go to islam videos then share islam hope you enjoy wish you all the best peace

Well I don't treat anybody different because of the colour of their skin or their views, i may think their views are wrong, i may not like them, i may even think they are stupid, but it will be because of the person, not their background, or skin colour. I have a number of friends that are Muslim, and we talk about their religion, and mine, they know what i think of theirs and that i respect their beliefs, and they respect mine, but your right people do treat not just Muslims different, but all those that have a different colour skin, and those who are disabled, many make up their mind on what they read in the papers, rather than find out for themselves, and you can't blame all these people wanting to come to the UK to gain the benefits, if this country is stupid enough to let them, a lot of us would do the same in their position.

Look back through history and you'll find a history of intolerance:
- fearing knowledge an early Christian Bishop roused the crowds to sack and burn the library at Alexandria;
- fearing difference the Cathars were slaughtered in Southern France at the behest of the local Bishop;
- fearing rivalry the pope subverted one of the crusades to attack the Christian stronghold of Constantinople (because they were Orthodox);
- fearing difference the Inquisition tortured and executed
- the Nazis had a down on Gays, Jehovahs Witnesses, Gypsies as well as Jews.

Muslims (both white and non-white) are the current focus of fears. And next decade who knows who we will focus our fear on. Human beings are very good at discriminating. This is a good thing. We need to be able to distinguish the safe from the unsafe, the edible from the poisonous etc. Being able to do this is just the way we are wired up. This useful process is corrupted by being taught wrong things by ill-informed people.

Instead of teaching people to explore, investigate and think, through most of history Western religions have taught people to fear difference and daemonise the unfamiliar.

There are genuine dangers in the world, but they are amplified because we daemonise and brand people through our ignorance rather than their ill-will.

Muslims are a minority. Generally minorities have more power than the normal folks, because they are constantly fighting for recognition and their rights. Did you noticed the Jews are helping each other just because they have the same beliefs? That's making them strong... It's like they're fighting against the other people. Even enemies become friends when fighting a common enemy. Most people don't find a reason why help the persons next to them, and figh for thir own becoming phisicaly lazy letting the minorities prevail. !sella rebu izan

Wrong question, there are millions of white Muslims, the reason that Muslims are treated differently from those of other religions is because people cannot look past the headlines and do not see the millions of ordinary decent people that espouse Islam.

White, black, asian, muslim, Jew or Gentile. Each group cries discrimation. You can find any number of reasons why people treat another group of people differently. Race, color, creed, religion, ethnic orgin, or sexual orientation. Right now it's muslims, last time is may have been Hispanics or whatever. All groups have their good, bad and radical. If you are justifing the bombings that happened in the USA or anywhere in the world that is wrong. I don't care who you are or what you believe in
