I think you should ask the question the other way around. The medical profession will tell you depression is an illness. Quite simply put depression is just the constant worry we all have. After some time if you can't answer or solve any simple questions or keep on thinking about the same things for example the question of meaning of life (which is the wrong question to ask) you will-according to the medical terminology-be classified as depressed.

I believe that depression is just the constant thinking, uncertainties, fears and all the emotional tension that gets us down. According to statistics rougly 10% of the world population are depressed. And during our lifetime we all will go through a period of depression.

What is meaning of life? Just forget about the fear, stop thinking too much and start doing and solving the little things that are bothering you. Life is too short. Start doing things now.

It depends on what your meaning to life is! My meaning to life makes me happy so I would like to know what your meaning to life is - it shouldnt make you depressed otherwise i think you have the wrong meaning to life!!!!

Okay i dont think much of that made sense! I dont know your circumstances or anything but 2 and a half years ago i was depressed and searching for something...... I prayed (as you do sometimes when you are desperate) and I found music a great help. That music lead me to a modern church which has great music. Which led me to finding a relationship with God. A whole new me emerged! It was like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon!
Life has been better since. No more depression because i realise there is meaning to life. You cant have someone tell you what is it or describe it to you - You really have to just experience it for yourself.

Try praying to God. Try finding a good church (i know that can be hard - a lot are old fashioned and boring). But God is real and when you actually life your life as you are meant to - being guided by God and having God in your life - it is amazing what can happen!!

There is hope!!!!

Best wishes to you

This question about the meaning of life used to make me feel disconnected and removed somehow form other people and the world in general. I used to have what I thought was an existential view of life. I really believed that life was essentially without meaning. I failed to grasp the "living in good faith" part at that time. I still think that life takes on meaning as we assign meaning. I do believe that for the most part we create our own reality. Sometimes life is ripe with meaning and other times it seems like an endless cycle of mundane activities and suffering. I guess I'm the most content now when I allow myself to "just be", to embrace what ever is happening whether it seems good or bad or ambiguous. When I'm able to be in that place of acceptance, I can take and make meaning moment by moment . . . and then I am not depressed.

No not depressed at all, if anything to think of the meaning of life awes me.. How intricate and elaborate it is on a global and universal scale, down to each individual being and molecule and how it all works together to function as one complete force.. how awesome is that.

No! Because I found my meaning of life through my salvation by my Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. I shall enjoy restoration in my health, family life, career life & financial health supernaturally!

quite..because where i am from
basically its just school til 20s (actualy that was quite enjoyable)
then its work +family+kids til say 60s (then again they raised the 'employable age' to 70)
and waiting to die from then on..
kinda meaningless..
