I'm still a teen and accepted that I was gay at 14, looking back I now recognize feelings I had long before that as gay (before I was really aware of what gay really meant or knew much about sex).

I realized I was bi when I was around 8, I didn't even know the term for it then, just that I wanted to hold guys in my arms and kiss them. I didn't know anything about homosexuality, small redneck home town with a majorly homophobic father, but I'd been told that if you are "qu**r" you hate women, and I loved them too, so I thought I was straight. It was not a decision to be bi, I felt what I felt, the only decision was to act on it, which I did at 11. I've never looked back, or felt any regret. Like the French philosopher once said, "I did not choose to be who, or what, I am, but, since it is me, I will neither deny nor apologize for it."

I knew before I was a teenager. When I first found out the 'facts of life' about men and women I thought it sounded gross, then when I found out (aged 8) that there was an alternative that meant you got to do it with boys instead of girsl, I knew straight away that it sounded right.
When I was about 11 I started to have crushes on boys (I think I had earlier but without recognising it, and I had actually hung out with girls more than boys at primary school - I have since wondered if I was confused by my feelings for boys, so avoided them), and when I was 12 I told people at school that I was gay. I've never doubted it for a second, or been particularly confused by my feelings since then, only by other people's reactions to them.
I don't think you can 'decide' one way or another - it's just the way you are.

I liked the idea of being with a woman when I was a kid, knew it was something I shouldn't talk about but didn't think anything of it. When I was about 13/14 I realised I looked at girls in a way the others didn't, had crushes on them etc but assumed I was bisexual. I was 15 when it started to sink in that I was probably actually gay since I'd never really liked guys, but wasn't sure for a while. It was hard to be sure because I'm not against men, I don't look at one and think eew...gross but time has shown they just don't do it for me.

Hit puberty at 12 and figured it out right away, but I had been feeling "different" somehow before that. When I hit puberty the different feeling became sexual attraction to women, and then in a sex ed course I came across the term "lesbian" and I had a noun to describe the feeling. So I guess I knew as far back as my memory goes, just didn't have the right word until almost a teen.

I realized at 15 that I was bi. I knew for a long time that I was different but felt I had to bury it.
In my society at the time, gay people were considered losers and gross. Knowing nothing about the gay community, I accepted these myths as fact. Then I started listening to and loving David Bowie music. I learned he admitted to being gay. I was shocked but at the same time delighted. This was proof for me that some gay people were not only not losers or gross, but gay people were capable of being beautiful and successful.

As a small boy, I was aware that I was somehow different from other boys, and upon reaching puberty at age 13, I knew I was gay.

At the age of 9.
There wasn't a switch to flip, and even if there were I wouldn't want to be any other way.

i knew at 15 for sure. but living in a small farming community i kept it to myself until i moved away from the area. the only one who really knew was the other 15 i was " playing" with. oddly enough as i get older and wiser i moved back to that same small community, ( bigger now) and I'm not afraid to be who i am
