when burning DVDs or CDs, you need to have enough speed from your CPU and available memory to handle the data without interruption.
turn off other programs, don't be doing IM, listening to music, downloading, etc etc etc while burning.
many times you can also adjust the burn speed.
normally a DVD is set to burn at it's fastest possible speed by default.
Many times if you turn down the record speed a notch or 2, it will work.
You also have to have blank DVDs that are rated for the speed AND protocol that you are using.
Some burners will take just about any blank, others want specific types, like DVD+ or DVD-.
Check your burner's documentation.

Hey! I think your problem is with the BURNER itself 'coz if you use the CD/R drive for reading files the laser will get dirty. The tendency is that it will lessen the life of your burner. email me at: butchqt08@yahoo.com

have you ever tried rebooting your workstation so as that the reminiscence is cleared? that's what sounds incorrect to me is that that's being saved in reminiscence cache. OR that's being saved in Nero itself. in case you saved it as a project delete it and initiate yet returned.
