Leicester Square they always have the top shows and your right on top of theatre land - I've used it several times for same day tickets -
pick up the tickets late afternoon - stroll round covent garden - their are plenty of good eating places nearby and you are practically 5/10 mins from most theatres (but make sure of that before you buy or you could end up travelling way out)

www.theatremonkey.com has a list of all current offers for shows - which ones you can get 2 for 1 tickets on, etc. I know all £50 Les Mis tickets are £32.50 Mon-Thurs at the moment :)
