Wnidowa XP with ServicePack 1 can be installed andthen you can download SP 2. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

Remove all exisitng partitions and quick format (not full format) them. Install the OS again. The blue screen will come if you have a bad sector or the Win XP CD is defective.
You can download SP2 of Win XP from
"http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html"
or from
"http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/default.mspx"

Wipe the disk thoroughly till now you attempt to place in XP; erase all evidence of Vista. Microsoft does not prefer you to downgrade as quickly as you have offered their all-singing, all-dancing piece of rubbish. in case you have a floppychronic bay, acquire a DOS boot floppy (ascertain it has the fdisk application) and repartition your tensechronic. in case you do no longer, you will possibly desire to attempt a Linux stay CD; mount the offending partition and do the comparable.
