someone asked "why do people treat vegitarians like wierdos?" i answered " because vegitarians are wierd" - fair comment i thought, but it cost me 10 points....somebody out there was a little oversensitive and it wasnt a carnivore! and before anyone says "whats the question?", the question is above, (marked, stangely enough, by a question mark.) this part is to qualify the question.

I'm a vegetarian, but I've been one only for the last 6 years and not before that. All my life I've been a very sensitive person. So if I were to read your question, it would make me think that you are wierd and senseless to ask such a question to begin with! lol And whoever asked that question, "why do people treat vegitarians like wierdos?" is so stupid. Nobody treats vegetarians like wierdos. And further more for you to answer, "..because vegetarians are wierd", how factual is that?! lol.

there are worse than vegetarians out there, there are vegans and even fruitarians, the simple anthropological fact which can be proven from our teeth is that homo sapians are omnivores - any "nutty" diets not including meat and veg and fruit and fish are just that, they are also something that only appear in areas that can afford vitamin supplements as the body needs things thier insane diets don't supply, as can be again proven by vitamin deficiencies in areas that don't have full diets and can't afford the supplements (mainly third world countries) only the rich can afford to maintain a non all round diet because they supplement it, a poor person on the same diet without supplements just gets ill because it isn't healthy

Certainly from my experience I have to agree with you....vegetarians are overly sensitive...I have no idea why...but they fly off the handle at anything...indeed I was attacked by one in the office recently after I stood my ground on keeping my resources....it got so messy my boss had to pull the vegetarian to one side and give them a warning.....ok...so this is one example...and no corrolation between eating only veg and madness can be made...but I can go on to recall endless examples of either being at the pointy end of one of our meat abstaining brethren or witnessesing some poor fool stumble head first into their firey wrath to know they are.
Further more..the mere fact that you lost points on yahoo answers because one took offense just further concretes the feeling that they have more in common with the mindset of Wacko Jacko than they do with Jo / Joanne Bloggs out there

It might make some more sensitive. But I find being called a "carnivore" offensive - I am not an animal. Who cares? Just me. Certainly some vegetarians don't mind calling people names.

Nobody likes to have their group made fun of. While most of us can shrug it off, remember that there are thousands of people who watch this site. It only takes one of them to complain and you get a violation notice.
If I was to say something rude about redheads, you probably wouldn't complain, but there's bound to be a redhead somewhere in the English spreaking world who's having a bad hair day.

I have been vegetarian for 1 year now. I am no more sensitive now than I was before I became vegetarian. If anything I am less sensitive as a vegetarian diet has very positive effects physically, mentally and spiritually.

I think it was because you made a generalisation!! My sister-in-law is a lifelong veggie and she is lovely. I eat meat and would rather have her as a friend than some meat eaters! Don't be so closed minded. Fair Comment my ***!!!!! It's just ignorant!
