You can't stop drooling. Our mouths produce saliva whether we are awake or asleep. When asleep you do not have the swallowing reaction usually associated with feeling a build up of saliva in your mouth, and as your head is on the pillows and therefore sitting sideways, the saliva empties out onto the pillow (this obviously doesn't happen quite as much when sleeping on one's back). Sleeping with you mouth closed, unfortunately does not work as it is not possible to do this whilst in a deep sleep. Try not to eat or drink too much before going to bed.

ever since I had "head gear" when I was a kid I have had this problem. I can't wipe it up cause it just seeps into my pillow, I can't give any advice I just know how you feel, but if you learn to sleep on your back which I have tried you can stop it.

Various over the counter medications will decrease salivation, like diphenhydramine.

This is not a recommendation, consult your doctor before you take any medication.

Hmm,.. you need to find out the source. You could try not useing Toothpaste/Mouthwash before you go to sleep and see if that makes a difference. Do you smell food while your asleep? There might be things you can take orally like a cough drop or a spray.

Who knows,.. obviously not going to be something anyone thinks of off the top of their head.
