You're making 2 good points. That's called offshoring and it is terrible for our economy. The only ones who gain are the big businesses. The common labor force in America is becoming a thing of the past and that creates a country with no middle class. Yes I do think that they should be boycotted and penelized but I can't see any president instituting any penalties since they are all owned and backed by big business themselves. It's so irritating getting tech support from India or somewhere not only because you can't understand them but because it's such a slap in the face to America that this job was offshored. Thanks for the question.

Seeing all the unemployment rate, for example, in Kentucky, Nevada, or Louisiana, no, I do not see any benefit for the economy from it at all. It does benefit the corporations big time; they are able to cut their wages costs at least twice by doing outsourcing.
Now here is another problem already emerged. Instead of doing the outsourcing (off-shoring), these corporations bring cheap labor from the overseas by sponsoring their working visas and green cards. Instead of hiring a local systems analyst for $150,000 a year of average salary, they bring an equally qualified guy from India who does the same job for $35,000 a year. I don't know about other States, but in California it is a huge problem. By the way, the Indian guys end up waiting up to 10 years for those green cards, and most of the times go back to India never getting the promised green cards. Corporations cut their costs and raise their profits by denying locals the employment and by exploiting the cheap foreign labor that they now bring here from overseas, take away all their papers, and turn them into virtual slaves. I hope some day some laws will do something about it and take all these corporations and their profits under control.

They should be shown for just how unpatriotic and unAmerican they really are. They saw that American labor was expensive and would require health and retirement benefits, so they went to places like China where people will work for $1.50/hr, and have no benefits or retirement. Then they turn right around and sell us the product for a little less than it was before, make huge profits and pay no tax into the US Treasury, and go have drinks with Dick Cheney in expensive hotels in Dubai. We are being ripped off by these guys, and they think there is nothing we can do. I would support a boycott and other more serious measures as well.

They are rewarded by lower costs. And through the miracle of macroeconomics, in place of the job that paid $10 an hour now pays $10 a day in India, there appear in the U.S. 2 new jobs that pay $15 an hour.
And the guy in India resolves my problem, with an accent, where the previous techie spoke jargon, not English, with a Yankee accent that grated on my southern ears.
Life goes on.

who's economy do they benefit, not ares. yes they should be boycotted. they only move their company's over seas to pay less wages. and they get rich off the Americans who buy the product. if the technician can't speak English then they have no right being called on.
