I don't understand the content of the song "Happy New Year" abba

didnt know anyone still listened to abba let alone analised the words. sounds to me like they are talking about a new hope that comes with the new year only to be dashed ? thatys what i think never heard the song tho.

Maybe the lyrics are something personal relating to themselves as individuals, much of songwriting is drawn from personal experience ~ enjoy the contribution and leave well enough alone!!!!
