I loved The Wasp Factory, I loved the dark humour and twists. I'm a huge fan of Scottish fiction so this was already pretty much a winner for me. I think The Wasp Factory is Banks' best.

In fact, I think its due a wee reread, thanks.

Ohhh yes. The wasp factory is a perverted twisted master piece of fiction. Not his best but close I think walking on glass is a little better.

Oooh, yes, I really enjoyed it and I am stupid enough not to see the surprising plot twist at the end of a book coming, so I was genuinely surprised about the truth about Frank.
Best part for me was the part with the kite and his niece.
Classic.

it is the only iain banks novel i have read so far yes it was a good book with a twist i didn't see coming
