Where something casual nice. You aren't part of the wedding party, so I don't assume its necessary to wear a tuxedo or kilt. Wear whats comfortable to you.

for this wedding reception just wear either black trousers, heals (not boots), pretty top and necklace. go for elegant & smart. You could wear a nice dress and heals if you have a suitable one.
I assume there will be a lot of people there, disco and buffet so you wont look out of place if you wear either of the above. just dont wear white. Do something nice with your hair, curly hair can look nice and classy if your hair is long enough.

For make up avoid big glittery statements! go for simple chic, subtle look.

have fun

Wear something that's comfortable and stylish but not tarty! These are people your boyfriend works with, so you don't want to create a bad impression! A trouser suit would be good, with a gorgeous top underneath. Dress to suit your figure and your colouring and you can't go wrong. Enjoy the evening.

the main thing at a wedding is not to out-dress the bride.
As they are normally in a rediculously big white dress, this is normally easy :)
anyway... i suggest a nice medium-length summer-dress (if you have one) with some kind of shawl/cardigan, and something classy in your hair.
Or if that is too formal for you, a nice skirt, tights and shirt looks smart enough.
Also... if you are going to dance, dont wear too high heels!

Wny not wear a pretty dress, with belero cardigan and matching sandals..

This dress, (link provided) is really nice and formal for a wedding and after-party.
