hi i have a 350z that i sold and im thinking about this guy i met selling his show car a nissan skyline-gtr for a very reasonable price.. the question is.. right hand drive legal? i live in california

That's actually not the question you should be asking. What you should be asking is... "Is that show car street legal?" Sounds like he got a JDM (Japan Domestic Market) Skyline imported. However, these "special" imports must go through DOT crashing testing and properly documented if they are to be road cars. Without them, you'll never get a legal title and never be able to drive it on public roads. For a show car, which is almost always towed to locations, that's not a problem. But you're looking for a daily driver, right?

If he already hung a license on it, spend $25 or whatever and get a carfax title search on it, and see what comes back. Make sure what comes back matches the car. :) (i.e. he didn't just hung any license on it). If he had no license on it... Run away. You'll never be able to get it registered without spending a LOT of $$$.
