While I think there is little doubt that there is - or has been - other intelligent life in the universe, I very much doubt we will ever find it. This is because the universe is so large, and the lifetime of civilizations capable of being discovered so short by comparison.

The essence of life exist in the universe. You may consider that the universe itself is alive. Like seeds in the wind waiting for a planet with the right conditions to germinate. The second part is less common though. Planets with the right conditions.

The chances of US (humans in this era) locating life in another planet, in another star are slim. Too bad. We just don't live that long.

Not as long as "the FEW" have any, and all access to all space information. Our Government in particular. One day maybe by 2012 something major will happen that they just cannot hide from the world anymore. For some info check out inventor JOHN LEAR'S service record, and the DISCLOSURE statement he put out to the public on art bell's show, Coast 2 Coast AM in November 2nd 2003. Very interesting stuff.

Absolutely. I certainly think so. There are also almost certainly types of life in the universe which live in conditions different from that of Earth: different temperature ranges, chemistry, etc. Of course, at this point, no one has ever actually detected extraterrestrial life.
