CONGRATULATIONS!!
Don't know many web-sites but having had three kids I think you'll find your midwife a marvellous source of information-book in with the doc to see her asap.
Not everyone suffers with morning sickness, but if you do have a biscuit before you get out of bed-warded off the nausea for me, and just eat what you normally do-avoid fresh, uncooked fish, raw eggs (eg home made mayo and cake mix), soft unpasteurised cheeses, alchohol and nicotine-treat caffeine with care(although I drank tea through all of mine).
Other than that enjoy the changes, take it day by day and get plenty of early nights. There's absolutely nothing you can do to avoid a miscarriage(especially in the very early stages) just listen to your body-and even then there's no guarantee-I miscarried before my first and third kids were born, heartbreaking but you get over it to a large degree eventually.
Oh, and don't eat for two-it's not necessary and you'll feel emotional enough post birth without being 3stone overweight too!!
Good luck.

Congratulations on your first pregnancy-a wonder full time for you and your partner lies ahead-i am sure you and he will be great parents and you will both be very happy in the future:-) However, i don't think it is right for you to have a go at cubic spline, it is not his fault you did not use the correct grammar-and indeed your post LOOKS as though "you found out you were pregnant by the doctor"...(that would indeed have been a massive shock!!), the correct way of saying this sentence would have been "i found out FROM the doctor that i am pregnant"...sorry, just an observation!!

Hi, i am 22 yrs old and 5 months preg. it was a shock to find out we were gonna have a baby. I was excited immediatly but also scared. If you know you guys want to have it and feel good about it then congratualtions. Its a wonderful time and i dont regret my decision to go thru with this pregnancy. You need to go get some pre-natal vitamins and go to your doc and get more blood work done. You also need to go and find a midwife and start a maternity program. Start eating right and do mild exercise. Unfortunatly if you are going to misscarry then isnt much you can do about it. Most of the time when it happens it means the baby wasnt meant to be. Just take good care. Check out the link below, i visit this site almost everyday, its a wonderfully informative forum. Good luck and enjoy !!

I think the earlier people here have given you all good recommendations so I won't repeat. I just wanted to say that actually the majority of women do NOT get morning sickness. I felt fantastic all through my pregnancy, my hair shone and got thicker, my finger nails were strong and long, and I glowed with health. No pains of any sort in any part of me except some practice contractions which were just a slight nuisance. Everyone is different, and I hope you have a great pregnancy experience.
Best of luck to you and your partner :)

As well as the above sites and books mentioned by others, there is the 'obvious' stuff -
- look after yourself
- remember that what goes into you goes into your baby
- don't drink alcohol or smoke or take drugs during your pregnancy
- drink plenty of plain, fresh water - at least 2 litres per day
- eat fresh fruit and vegetables
- get some light exercise and plenty of rest
- be happy - this is a great time
Hope this helps.

hey congrats i was 20 when i first got preg! trust me just enjoy it! you will get the morning sickness soon sore breasts tiredness and it feels like the pits but it does get better! you need to go get some folic acid and you take that until you are 12 weeks pregnant to give your baby the best start! you will se your midwife soon and she will do all your booking in and give you a pack which contains a pregnancy book thats tells what not to eat etcetc! you have to saty away from
unpasturised products like brie and cammembert cheese
raw or runny eggs so no homemade mayo etc
meat must be cooked thouroughly
2 tins of tuna a week
no swordfish or marlin
5 cups of tea a day
4 cups of coffee
good websites are
babycentre

Hi! congratulations. There's actually this web site that i really like and it's www.babycenter.com I've been on it since my first pregnancy they let you know everything they send you a e-mail every week to let you know what the symptoms are and what you might feeling. After you have your baby they still send you e-mails and let you know your baby development week by week. They send you catalogs too of each trimester if you want them It's really cool! There's also this book that has got me through everything and has answer my questions it's called What to Expect when you're expecting i highly recommend it. Wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy : )

I used http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy when I was pregnant. if you put in your due date they will send you weekly e-mail updates, so you know what to expect. They also send e-mails after the baby is born.
As for miscarriage, I was told by the doctor that there is nothing, within reason, to make or stop a miscarriage happening. Just be sensible and don't do things like bungee jumping or anything.
Best of luck to you.

Well first off congratulations! I would suggest buying "What to Expect When Your Expecting". I was alone during my first pregnancy and it helped me through a lot. This time around I signed up for emails and such as well as having a copy of "What to Expect..." Here are a few sites that I've found helpful.
http://www.babycenter.com/
http://www.whattoexpect.com/public/what-to-expect-homepage.aspx (this site is free for the first month but you continue to receive the emails throughout pregnancy)
http://www.americanbaby.com/ab/index.jhtml
You can also get free subscriptions to American baby magazine and Baby talk.
http://www.parenting.com/parenting/babytalk/channel
Good luck! I know reading helped me tons with my first baby and I love reading all of the information even with my second baby.
