Sometimes I change my speech or stance a little depending on who I am speaking to. Don't do it on purpose just happens.

But I would never change who I am or what I believe in, unless this person could convince me that what I believe in was wrong.

I don't think that would be "changing my morals," it would just be deceit. Not to say I haven't "deceived" (when necessary!) by omission-hmmm. In controversial issues, SOME people (of no consequence) NEVER know where I stand!

Did I just contradict myself????

*** Reading you answers again, I wonder if I was misunderstood. I have NEVER changed my morals, since they are MINE & not dependent on the judgments of friends or strangers. Perhaps what I do, when there is no serious consequence, no point in debate, is to be "diplomatic." I shouldn't have used the word "deceit." At appropriate times, there is NOTHING to be accomplished by expressing one's "morals" but hostility, anger, & useless debate. In "action" (behaviour) I can state in all truth that I have never "changed" my morals.

If your morals are changeable, they aren't really *your* morals. That's what morals are about, a compass to guide us through life and help us make decisions. The line has been drawn, and the line doesn't move. Otherwise I would be what's known as a "turncoat," the sort of person who changes with the prevailing fashion, politics, etc.

I do not change my morals for anyone. Even if no one else knows me, I still have to live with myself, so I want to try to do the best I can. Not saying I'm perfect, just saying I try to do what I think is right, no matter what.

Yes, you change for yourself and not usually for anyone else. Morals are quite a personal issue in that they affect and influence you first before anyone else. But everyone knows someone hence the answer is yes and yes again if the case need be.

My actions may change. My morals are consistent.

good question...
me no, I am, who I am ,wherever I go. But a lot of people that I've come to know over the years will flip their loyalties at the drop of a dime, it's lack of integrity. Say what you mean, and mean what you say...
