car will NOT turn opver for quite a while, like maybe 20 minutes or more. Someone recently said it was a bad solonoid in the starter and the starter had to be replaced. Is this true?

The starter motor has an armature; I had a similar problem. Armature overheats, expands, and will not turn easily. Replace the starter. Get a new one, not one from a junkyard or you might have the same problem soon.

Something's heating up in that 20 minutes that has to cool down before it starts again.

sounds like its surely the ignition swap and could probably could desire to get replaced. I had to try this on mine i think like it became approximately $2 hundred, yet that became a jointly as in the past. different than I had to interchange mine because of the fact the pins began getting Jammed and that i could no longer even turn the biggest anymore.
