From the very beginning America's foreign policy has been inward looking. Undoubtedly, the ideals of 'democracy and liberty are noble and should be propagated, but isn't the American leadership assuming a bit too much when they decide that their way is the only 'good' way for all of humanity? What is ok with you need not be ok with others. Maybe people do not want American style liberty!

America decides to attack a country because it poses a threat to their interests. Perfectly understandable. But why arm them in the first place? The case of the Taliban is there for everybody to see. Over that they expect restrain from every other country but can never be advised to exercise restrain. So what is the message they are sending out? That the life of an American citizen is costlier than human life in other countries? At least that's the message people are getting

US foregion policy lacks common sense, we armed many people we now combat or later did, Castro was armed by us, Iran, with the Shaw, Hussien was pu tinto power by us to combat the Aiyloitlla, Pineapple face Noregia, the list goes on. Its because we are the worlds bully, the tough kid who believes we rule. We need to revert back to the days of allowing people to handle their own affairs, supsope that France, Germany, and Russia had joined with England in combatting the terrorists known as the American Revolutionaries? You'd be singing God Save The Queen

Be careful, our foreign policy has been hijacked into "shoot first and ask questions later." No one is safe, or respected by these guys, right now it looks like their next target is Iran. Attack and plunder seems to be the new idealism of the Bush Doctrine. Most US citizens do not agree with this plan, but seem helpless to stop it. Perhaps the latest election will slow them down, but as Dick Cheney said, he doesn't care about who we voted for, he wants to go after Iran next. If this continues, we might as well take down the Statue of Liberty and replace it with a Golden Calf to represent this change in our ideals.

That isn't the message at all. People want to get that "message" so they may find it easier to ridicule.

We can lead you people to water but you have to decide whether or not to drink.

"But why arm them in the first place"?
Extremists take over and unfortunately, they usually get to use the weapons they capture. Is that so hard to understand???

Yes, that's what I feel too. But it's ok, if they want to carry on with their brutal military regime, soon the whole world will turn against US.
