I know some dreams might have a meaning, but some seem just too weird to mean anything. Like once I had a dream that I was wearing a gorilla costume trying to scare my sisters and my dad shot me, because he thought I was big foot. Lol! That dream didn't seem to have a point!
Other times I have dreams that happen over and over again. One dream that I've had several times, is one where I'm at a mental institute and I'm one of the patients.
Do they all have some sort of meaning or are some of them just pointless?

A few monthes ago my grandfather was dying in the hospital. While he was in the hospital I had a recurring dream. In that dream he had died and was trying to get me to stop crying. I had that dream over and over for weeks, even after he had died in real life. I feel that that dream had meaning, I just don't understand it.

One school of interpretation says that each thing in the dream represents you. You figure it out by narrating the dream aloud from the point of view of each character. You usually wind up using words that have meaning for you.

For example, "I am the gorilla, hiding behind a mask" Or try, "I'm my sister and (your name) is a big scary gorilla." I'm just using examples, you may use different words.

You can be the people, the buildings, whatever.

I heard one guy do one about a recurring dream about walking down a road with his friends; the dream made him sad. He went through a couple of rounds until he got to "I'm the road, and my friends are walking all over me." That got him.

I would say some are just purely the mind at play.

However, the reoccuring dream shows a concern with something - your mental health maybe - that you aren't dealing with while awake.

Consult several of the online dream dictionaries ofr the main symbols in your dream - if it doesn't ring a bell or make any sense, then likely it was just the mind having fun while the body rests up.

I think they do... like the dream with your dad and sister, are you jealous of the relationship that you dad and sister have together? Sounds like this is something that you are hiding, hense the gorilla costume. LOL, i have no idea if that is true, that's how I would interpret it though.

Dreams are powerful, but who knows... we could be living in a dream right now.

Sometimes dreams are just dreams and have no meaning.

There are times when we dream something that somehow manages to manifest into reality later. Coincidence? Maybe.
There are some that will read into it a whole line of gobblety **** when in reality, it means nothing. Just pure coincident.

next time you scare somebody for a reason, say what you mean. your joke may boomerang just as it was in your dream. dreams can give us a clearer idea of how we face life in general. they also reveal the kind of person we are - or the inner thoughts we either keep or suppress.

they do help. :)

The action you do in the day will make you dream at night.Dreams are normally connected to the things we do in real life.

most dreams have a meaning subconsionlly ( sp). If you have been thinking all day about one thing- you most likely will dream about it. Dreams are funny- and its nice to get them interepretd... its just your consious letting you know whats going on- they dont predict things though-

I beg to differ, i was at one time a cognitive therapist, and ALL dreams mean something........some more important than others.................most are mild and have little truth behind them, however if you dig deep enough.......there is a needle of your sub-conscious.
