The problem is they have 2 hollywood chicks on their top line... You are NOT going to win with 2 blondes trying to play a man's game...

I don't see how the Canuck team could respect Crawford after he let Bert take the fall for what should have been his problem. Crawford was the one calling for Moore's head , he was the one so disgusted that a player from such a low stature would have the nerve to actually check his superstar . All Bert did was smack the guy upside the head and bull him over , you see 10 X worst than that every game with checking from behind etc.It was just a freak thing the guy's neck got hurt and the same scenario could play out a million more times and nothing would happen. Crawford should have stepped up.

The problem was the GM decisions. Spending extra money on Kesler, paying too much for Willie's Defensive services, getting Jan Bulis instead of any player who can actually bury his chances...hoping the coach can make 2 lines out of one...letting King and all the winger hopefuls go...
Right now they have little forward scoring depth, their Defense is brittle and worn down, Luongo's in a worse predicament than he was in Florida in terms of defensive coverage and it's likely weighing on his mind.
Vancouver lacks a prototypical power forward to bang the boards. The Sedins and Nazzy are great players, but they can't work the corners well, and they need someone to. Pyatt was a fourth liner last year for a reason. He has potential but is getting too old for it to amount to much.
They gained some grit but lost a lot of edge when Ruutu was sent to Pittsburgh.
Also, they've been playing Bieksa on the PP recently instead of Krajicek. Sure, Lukas might not be the bigest Dman, and he can't check all that well, but he knows how to protect his own end fairly well with stickhandling, and has a great eye for passing. If they kept him on the Powerplay, at least splitting some 1st and 2nd PP time, then I'm sure he'll come around offensively and be a 30-40pt player.
But yeah, they're young, they lack edge, they lack defensive presence, and they lack a physically dominating power forward.
