With one very big exception, online dance-lessons are expensive gimmicks. Because dance is so dynamic, it's really hard to teach yourself new styles unless you've already learned similar styles.

But what is the one big exception? www.youtube.com . You'll find at the very least some inspiring clips there, and there are some good tutorials too. Good luck!

I'm sorry, but unfortunately, you really can't get dance lessons over the internet. Maybe a few techniques, but other than that you need a choreographer to watch your movements and help you from then on. However, there are many other options that wouldn't have be over online. You can purchase a video that teaches basic dance steps. Stores you can look at: Ulta, any video store, or even that little video section in Bed Bath and Beyond. Hope I've helped you out! :)

Lessons are the best way to learn. You can watch online clips to see some of the various moves you might learn, but I agree with the others- it's not your best bet. DVDs/videos can be somewhat useful in-between your lessons to review, but most of the time, the lessons/DVD can vary.
A good general dance website is http://www.ballroomdancers.com/ You can see a few moves and learn about the what you might want to do. Their Dance Directory or message board will help you find lessons or teachers in your area.

I agree with Adrian L, youtube is probably the best you'll get. search for dance tutorials and you're sure to find something. If you've really looking to do one type of dance or even two or three try looking in your phone book for dance studios. Its hard to teach dance across the Internet because even if you have the steps down, no one is there to tell you if your doing it right or not, or to tell you how to improve. You can't learn very good technique online. But like i said, try youtube if nothing else. as long as its not a complicated dance your trying to learn, it should help you.
