Sounds to me like it hurts her. If her bottom is red, then there's at least some irritation, and that's definitely not fun. Keep her clean, and make sure that she has plenty of fluids to replace what she's losing through the diarrhea. If the diarrhea persists for more than about 12 hours, get her to the doctor, or sooner if she becomes lethargic or quits urinating.

Ask yourself how you feel, when you have experienced diarrhea, infants are sensitive to breast milk, formulas. Empathy is nul in this world. If you are a mother, because you could be just a person who is bored and wants some fun, but if you are a mother, then all will be answered with time and patience. Babies are more stronger than they look, of course diarrhea is not an enjoyable experience for any human to go through. Determination to exsist drives all life and humans are no exception. Being a mother is the hardest position to hold on this planet and do not forget those true words.

Yes, diarrhea hurts the tummy and a baby's butt. You remember when you have had it, right? It hurts until you crap but with a baby, their little tender skin hurts long afterward if not tended to. Give baby lots of water to clear the irritating excrement out and make sure that baby has clean bottles, spoons, bowls, etc. Get some Desitin to protect the little butt.

Yes the poop is burning her butt, Put vaseline on her after washing her bottom off with soap and water. Also, if she has the diarrhea for 12 hours you need to take her to ER. Also give the baby Pedialyte. If your baby is unable to keep anything in her system, this can become life threatning from the dehydration. Watch for no urine and shriveled palms and bottoms of feet.

Diarrhea can cause dehydration . If the diarrhea persists you should try to give your baby Pedialyte during it's course to help maintain electrolyte levels. What's equally important to know is what may be causing the problem . Hope your baby is feeling better soon.

try pedialyte to help with the lost fluids (and it wont make them go as much as water or formula) and put a lot of vaseline on the butt so a rash wont come... the diarrhea doesnt hurt as much as the rash she can get from it
