I think that the best gift that you could give them is cash - like a bonus. That way they can spend it on what they want or need. It would really be appreciated

Get them something practical that they won't want to throw away and that they'll really appreciate. Like work boots or jeans or something. If they're working at your house a nice gesture would be letting them off like an hour early (with pay) and inviting them in to have dinner. Recently at my work we got an extended lunch and a catered dinner, and the supervisors and superintendents served the food. I'm glad you're thinking of them; I've worked around those hired labor types before and most people just treat them like total **** so, good on you.

Bake some cookies or cake and give them a box or a Christmas bag of goodies
Given the family man a ham and give the single ones a bottle of champagne ( you can get Freixinet for about $10 and it is very good)
Cook a nice lunch and serve to them or arrange with their foreman to take them to lunch
Cash is King

i would start with a bonus, if they have been employed for 5 years then a 2 week bonus would be good, others at least a week pay, then a gift certificate to walmart for $50 and finally a xmas dinner basket including the turkey or ham. your employees will appreciate you if you show how much you appreciate them. also, what about a xmas party for your employees, nothing fancy, just a dinner at the office.

Give them cookies.
Who shrugs their shoulders @ cookies?? People w/ dead hearts... and they really shouldn't be getting cookies in the 1st place.
Who gives away cookies?? Diabetics... and they really shouldn't be doing hard labor anyway.
Cookies... they warm the soul.
P.S.: Don't personalize the cookies by placing "To: My Hispanic Laborer" labels on them.

Why don't you give them gift cards from a department store such as Kmart, Walmart or Meiers where they can choose from a variety of things to purchase?
