If so, how do I go about requesting sponsorship, and who should I approach? It'll be hard for me to ask family members because all of their money is pretty tight. Are there any guidelines that must be followed? Do you know of any organizations, corporations, foundations, individuals, etc. that would sponsor a student who wishes to join a sorority, or if there are special scholarships offered to those who wish to become members of a sorority?

It is absolutely possible for you to obtain sponsorship to offset some or all of the costs associated with membership. As far as finding individuals you would have to do that yourself. Older members in the sorority are your best bet if that is the way you go. I know that most sororities offer some sort os scholarships, but I am unaware of any that offer scholarships to pay for membership. You can do things on your own to raise the money such as car washes or bake sells on your campus....ESPECIALLY during campus events. You can also go to a Costco os Sams and bu some snacks in bulk and sell them out of your room....that usually makes GREAT money in the evening hours. Again regarding scholarships...you might want to look on the national website of the organization you are considering (if they have one) and contact them via phone or email to ask them that question.
Best wishes to you on your endeavor.

many sororities offer scholarships. check your sorority's national website. oftentimes they cover the whole amount or a large portion of the dues. your sorority might also offer a payment plan so you can pay monthly instead of all at once.
