I would like to get (current and historical) comprehensive data on the stock market and the financials of individual (public) companies in raw format (csv, xml, etc.).

By comprehensive, I mean more than just your usual price and P/E, but also Earnings, Equity, and ROI, etc. since IPO (quarterly and/or annually).

Where can I find them?

here is an example of simple and current stock info on MSFT: http://quote.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=MSFT&f=sl1d1t1c1ohgvj1pp2wern&e=.csv

Thank you very much.

If you have EXCEL, there are two Yahoo groups that can help you get a lot of information into EXCEL from the web:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/xltraders/
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/smf_addin/

The first one has files in the library that use combinations of VBA and queries to get informations into EXCEL. The discussion board can also be very helpful in helping you find specific solutions.

The second one is my group. In the files area, you can find a free open-source EXCEL add-in, documentation, and templates that can grab information from the web using user-defined functions.

One good source for an enormous amount of quarterly and annual financial data is AdvFN. For example, on IBM:

http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&symbol=IBM

Click on the "Annual Reports" and "Quarterly Reports" button for the detailed info. There is also a "data downloads" button on that page which can download a chunk of information as a CSV file, but you'll need to go through the free registration process first.

I've made a nice profit on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more. I definitely recommend subscribing to https://tr.im/tradepennystocks
Very good research, quality stocks. I was a bit weary of penny stocks from all the bad hype they receive but this guy is pretty legit. He's put my mind at ease with a lot of the fears I've had.

The Wall Street Journal online should have the information you are looking for http://online.wsj.com/public/us
click on research and tools
Also, if you go to an individual company's web site they have their financial information posted. Just click where it says investors or investors and media. I hope this helps.
