My dad played a joke on me. I put my tooth under the pillow expecting big bucks the next day. I awoke the next morning and threw my pillow aside only to find a penny that was sliced in two. My father had cut a penny in half and laughed when I brought it into the living room with a confused look. He later gave me five dollars that the tooth fairy had misplaced. LOL. Good old dad.

I got $5 also. My parents kept my teeth and put them in a small vase and is still in their china cabinet.How is that for weird?! lol I like the half penny story.

Usually a couple of bucks. One time my dad forgot to put money under my pillow. I asked him about it and he went inside my room and said he just saw the tooth fairy put money under my pillow. Yeah right...like I'd fall for that!

The tooth fairy didn't "operate" in communist Bulgaria where I grew up.
But for my child same fairy was generous $5 - $10 per tooth + thank you cards.
