My advice for the lyrics part would be to set aside time every day to just write. Write the first thing that comes to your mind and keep going for at least 20 minutes. Don't worry about grammar or what you think you should be writing about, just let it flow. And don't get too frustrated if this seems difficult at first; once you get over the first hurdle and just write, you'll find it gets easier and easier. Then after a while, look through your free-write and pick out chunks that might be usable for a song. It may take some intense sifting but you will find jewels within them.

For the music part of it, I'd highly recommend using a voice recorder (it doesn't need to be expensive) and carry this with you EVERYWHERE. You never know when you'll get an idea for a hook or a chord progression. Just hum the melody or whatever you come up with. Do you have a guitar? An acoustic guitar works great to lay out demos. The same with the lyrics, I would advise playing your guitar A LOT, and not necessarily on particular songs all the time. When you're just playing around on your guitar it happens when you'll play something you like. The recorder can also come in handy here too. Record your practice sessions so if you like something you can keep going with it without being afraid of forgetting it later.

For the breaking into the music industry part, you just really need to get yourself out there. Talent competitions, battle of the bands, etc will help you get the recognition you want. Make connections. If you're taking guitar lessons maybe your teacher knows somebody. But mainly performing whenever possible, not only to gain recognition but also to hone in on your performance skills.

I hope this helps. One final piece of advice is to do this with all the passion in your heart. It seems like you really love this kind of stuff, and when put passion into each performance people will recognize that! Good luck!

My advice would be to look back in on the past (achievements, heartbreaks, etc.) also look at lyrics from your favorite artists, mix them up and create your own. Do some research on lyric websites to find cool lines and mix them up with your own flow. I hope I helped!

Why don't you go and speak to someone already in the music industry - get some inspiration from him/her.
