How do people even have the nerve to even try and defend the Republicans? It is really quite something.

If you support the troops so much go down to your local veterans hospital and sign up to volunteer to help them like I did three days a week all night long for eight years. Just don't put a bumper sticker on your car and pat yourself on the back.

Helmets. Do something about it and quit complaining. Drop the ideology and get to work.

I support the troops, I don't support what they have been ordered to do. I don't see an issue with that.

The troops tend to be people who either had few other options in life or whose family have always joined the forces. People don't join up to go and invade Iraq on a series of bogus pretexts.

is it Ethical and Legal to tell people "support the troops"
Yes in the united states it is still legal to tell people "support the troops" although many libreals lead by Jhon Kerry have attempted To make even uttering such words a crime. They have failed on numerous attempts. in other news today scientists have descovered two new words in the english languge Cher, and Helmuts none of the scientists have any clue what either word means but at this moment they are attempting to decifer them.

Never in the military, were you? This isn't a matter of what administration is in office. This sort of thing has always been SOP for our military. The only major exception that comes to mind is when Jefferson Davis was Secretary of War: he took a radical initiative and had issued to the troops boots that actually had a specific one to go on the left foot, and a specific one to go on the right foot, a huge innovation! The DOD now actually does a lot less of the traditional readying for the last war instead of the next one than is historically the case.

Not all republicans fit into your agenda of what a republican is. I support our troops regardless of whether or not Cher buys their helmets because I appreciate their sacrifices so that I do not have to make as many. We live a charmed life in the US, regardless of whether or not you think so.

It is quite amazing that this government thinks little of funding Halliburton and Parsons and Bechtel (the two latter companies by the way, are leaving Iraq, with a plethora of jobs UNDONE or never started) and yet expect other people (whether family or otherwise) to supply US troops with basic military gear. AND it is quite amazing that we have all of these people all over the United States, rallying the troops, wishing them well, telling them that we support them......and yet NONE of them are demanding of their government that these troops be given what they need. It is mind boggling!
And what does "support our troops" mean anyway? Seems to me it is no more than saying flowery words.
