1) Java is a programming language. Many websites use java based applications since they are easily portable between different types of machines. If you want to view/use java applications you need to JVM (Java Virtual Machine) which can be downloaded from Sun Microsystems Website. This is not to be confused with "javascript" which is a type of code that is associated with webpages, used for advanced web applications.

2) Trojan Viruses are processes that hide on your computer and perform a "malicious" action. This can range from stealing confidential information on your computer to corrupting your files. You should ALWAYS quarantine and remove ASAP.

3) Quarantining a trojan should render it useless. This means that the program will not be harming your computer any more, the only reason to keep it would be if you wanted to study it or send it to someone to study it. It's best to delete soon after quarantining so you don't accidentally click the button that restores the virus!

Java is a programming language expressly designed for use in the distributed environment of the Internet. It was designed to have the "look and feel" of the C++ language, but it is simpler to use than C++ and enforces an object-oriented programming model. Java can be used to create complete applications that may run on a single computer or be distributed among servers and clients in a network. It can also be used to build a small application module or applet for use as part of a Web page. Applets make it possible for a Web page user to interact with the page.
Java was introduced by Sun Microsystems in 1995 and instantly created a new sense of the interactive possibilities of the Web. Both of the major Web browsers include a Java virtual machine. Almost all major operating system developers (IBM, Microsoft, and others) have added Java compilers as part of their product offer.
