Do you think you would be brave enough for what you may encounter there, being that it is considered by many to be very haunted?

Being from Nola, it's best to experience the city without going on a ghost hunt tour. It's all a hype (mostly playing up on tourism)-you are only shown places that are considered haunted. The Quarter is old, with lots of history, so if you are considering taking a tour, find out the places that are haunted and go by yourself. I am sure you will find strange occurences that would not happen otherwise. You will enjoy the entire experience much more.

Sounds like fun. I've been to New Orleans many times, but never taken a ghost tour. I know it is supposed to be very haunted, but I've never seen or felt anything spooky. I've even visited the cemetaries and they are just really neat because they are so different.

My parents and sister are from New Orleans.
they lost everything except what was upstairs.
I went have been there twice since.
it is sad.
the quarter and the garden dist. are fine, they were never flooded, and unless you live there there is no point in going to the rest of the city.
i did not see any ghosts, though the grass was a cadaverous gray color.
plus the city was haunted WAY before the flood.
200 people a year died (were shot) in the North Rampart projects area.
not to mention the murders in pirate times

My husband and I planned to go to New Orleans and do the ghost tours on our honeymoon. But katrina hit before the wedding. I would still love to go someday just do not know if I will ever get the chance.

Yes. I've been on four of them. I'll probably go on more. My husband is from (and currently lives in) New Orleans. Fantastic city.

Incidentally, you don't actually see much on those tours. Just locations. Though you might feel eyes watching you. I glimpsed a spirit at The Morgue (bar) once and the Lalaurie mansion will give you the shivers when you set eyes on it.

Yes. No problem. Ghosts are OK, but demons, pretending to be ghosts are a tougher challenge. If those were in that tour, a human would have to be equipped with the full armor of God in order to return unaffected.

Hope you get to enjoy a tour, go with God.

99.9% of Ghost Tours are cheeze!!!! Sure they are kind neat...and I do belive in ghosts.

I went on one in Gettysburg, and travelled through the "most haunted" places there.

It ain't all that.

If you are into that....do it alone or with a friend one night near one of the cemetaries in N.O....at least if you don't experience anything you'll at least have a good fear of your own imagination for an evening.

I don't know if I believe in ghosts or not, but I would definately like to go and see for myself. Plus, I love to explore old buildings.

Absolutely! Sound like my kinda scene! There's too much to see in one day there, though. I'd love to take readings on equipment, record noises and video, take pictures....

And visit Salem, Mass. And Hunadora castle! And Carfax Abbey!
