Emo...
The Music- Basically its highly emotional or extremely dar or having to do with suicide sometimes.
"Emo" Bands- Hawthorne Heights, Dashboard Confessional
The PPl- They wear skinny jeans and shop at hot topic most of the time. The boys even go to the extreme of wearing girls' jeans. They complaoin a lot about lif and how no one loves them and even go as far as cutting them self somthinges. Basically its the generation that riddilin created, b/c these kids are sometimes are depressed. It coulfd be a good or bad thing depending on who you talk to.

ABOUT EMO - MUSIC
Lots of people think emo stands for emotions. It actually stands for Emotive Hardcore and is a subgenre of punk music.
Emo started in the mid 1980's and died out after about 5 years.
It also made a small comeback in the 90's.
Recently emo has made a reappearance as such and there are a lot of emo bands coming out these days.
The emo today is nothing remotely like the emo of the 1980's; it is very whiny, selfish and centred around making money.
Modern Emo is much more commercial, whereas old emo was "Indie" which stands for Independant (Making their own tapes records etc)
Emo today is often very whiny and their lyrics quite often revolve around:
Death
Losing a Loved One
Funerals
Being the Odd One Out
Self Mutilation
Depression
Being a Homosexual
Being Used for Sex

ABOUT EMO - STYLE
You must have heard people get called "emo" based on their appearance.
I'll describe an emo girl and an emo guy:
Girl:
Wears clothes with polka dots, with lots of black
Often will wear bright red mixed with black (E.g black hair, red lipstick)
Wears little hair clips in their hair
Wears slip on shoes or old sneakers (Often chuck taylors)
Their hair is often in a bob, and is often "smeared" across their face with a long fringe.
Wears tight black jeans
Wears cardigans/black jackets
Has facial peircings
Guy:
A guy sometimes looks exactly like a girl.
They always wear tight jeans with either slip on shoes or chuck taylors. Quite often emos are obsessed with skulls etc.
They wear long fringes and often dye their hair in streaks of colours like gray or blonde.
Emo guys often have lots of peircings like the girls.
Emo's seem to like these colours:
Green (green with a slight blue hue)
Pinkish Red
Red
Black
White
Brown
There seems to be a lot of homosexuality/bisexuality in emo culture. This might be because of peer pressure and "cultural influence" e.g. they feel pressured to be bisexual because it's part of the trend.
Emo's in my opinion are very stuck up people who care only for themselves. They often believe their lives are very bad compared with others, and always seem to focus on what they don't have.
Emo's don't seem to realise that there are millions of people and children starving to death, being used for sex, and being forced to fight in wars. They seem to think that life is hard although they often have no real experience of life.
Personally I don't like emo music because of it's bad influence and commerciality. I believe that the human race is getting weaker and weaker because of trends like emo.
Emo can often seem very attractive because of how it makes the person feel, but I urge you to look at it from every possible viewpoint before making a decision about it.
I'm sure you'll find, as I have, that emo is a lame trend for 13 year old lamers.
Another thing:
Real goths and real punks hate emo people. Real goths/punks hate commercialism and they way emo has bastardised the two cultures.

emo is all about the attitude, hating the world, blood, bleeding black, emo fringe, tight jeans, thick black rimmed glasses. you can to be a nerd while being an emo cus emo kids are all about the poetry. but i'm emoth(emo/goth) and i dont write poetry. maybe all these things are stereotypical.

WOW u dont no wat emo is? technically the dictonary def. is no emotion but if ur talkin about the teen definition its about people hoo basically arent hard core enough to be goths they think that every1 hates them and they basically are super AHnoying....they like punk music and claim they "cut" themselves but most of them are fakers and wannabes
