i had to start adding rice cereal to my infants bottle at one month....bad reflux......and she was fine...and it did help her sleep through the nite. Doctors and nurses say ``no way`...but ny daughter is a thriving one year old...no damage done!

Cereal should never be put in a babys bottle. There are signs to look for when a baby is ready for solid food and they don't start until around 6 months. Babies go through a growth spurt at around 4 -6 weeks and will cluster feed. It's perfectly normal for them to eat every 1/2 sometimes. Cluster feeding means just that. Many feedings in a short amount of time. It's Normal at this age. Just keep offering the bottle when she's hungry. She will tell you when she's hungry and when she's had enough. Please don't start solid food until at least 4 months, and never put it in a bottle. Their little digestive systems aren't ready for solid food, that's why women produce milk. The signs to look for to tell when your baby is ready are:

-She shows an interest in your food and reaches for it
-The tongue thrust reflex is gone. (this is the reflex that naturally pushes food out of their mouth)
-She can sit by herself

Please don't stop or restrict their eatting. They are supposed to. They are growing a little bit every day, even if you don't notice. They need all the food they can get. If they are really feeding 24/7 then their milk should be reduced a little and you should give a little more physical contact in place,.. that may be what they are really starveing for.. attention and interactions. But they may need to eat every 20 minutes along with every thing else at that age >.> Or atleast act like it. Though things very from child to child,.. so you can't base everything around anyone elses experience. The most you should expect gaps between needs to get is about 2 hours, but you still need to check on them and make sure they are sleeping well.

Of course she is hungry she is a growing infant. You start with cereals around the latter part of the third month or when the doctor advises you to do so. What were you expecting an infant that only ate breakfast lunch and dinner/

i wouldnt recommend putting cereal in a bottle at all. its not really necessary unless she has bad reflux. i would ask the doctor about that too, before you do it. and one month olds ARE hungry all the time.. they need to eat a lot to grow as fast as they do.

Im a nanny of 13 years I wouldnt recomend giving your baby any kind of cerial(rice cerial) untill 5/6 months of age maybe try a thicker formula and if your feeding 4 hourly try every 3 hours. Also its best not to mix formula and cerial in a bottle when its time to feed do it seperatly from her milk so she gets to understand the differace between food and milk... good luck!

NO you should NEVER put anything but milk in your babys bottle at just one months old. She is far too young for solids, you should perhaps ask your self why she is crying as it might not be that she is hungry. Consult your health visitor or Dr.

check with the doc if the formula is the right kind for her then perhaps try feeding her rice cereal putting it in the bottle at that young can cause choking and if you notice what happens when baby eats they fall asleep usually with milk still in there throat and mouth try a paci and se if it is just suckling she wants .

Cereal should never be given in a bottle. (Unless the Dr. recommends it for reflux problems.) It should only be given in a bowl and not until after 6 months (what my Dr. told me)

I would say she is not always hungry. She may be crying because you are feeding her TOO much. Her doctor will tell you she is not old enough for cereal.

As a mother of 5 boys, i know!! I started with two of my children at 1 month BUT make sure it is VERY thin. If not, you will constipate your baby. I would put (in8oz bottle) cereal but mixed with a LITTLE juice or something like bananas! Good luck!
