Your children are watching quality TV shows. I hope you regulate the amount of time they spend in front of the TV so that they also run around and jump and play, draw pictures, learn games, etc. But when they are allowed to watch TV, those shows are good ones for them to watch, in my opinion.

New to internet lingo here...OMG, Oh My God? Anyway, you don't say how old your child is, but there are a few things you can try to provide alternatives (You probably have tried these already, but what the hey.) I don't know if you are the parent that's home with the children all day, but if not, pass this along to your spouse.
1) Weather permitting, perhaps have a manditory outdoor playtime period...you'd be with them, of course, and with luck they'll start enjoying being outside so much, they won't be thinking "Almost time to go in for Blue's Clues."
2) Have a part of the day where the TV goes off and you, or your spouse, or your sitter (insist that this is something she/he does) read to the kids. Again, you didn't tell us their ages, but if they're are young enough to be watching Shining Time Station, Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues (just showing off my knowledge--and so you'd know I've been through this same phase), I'm sure they would enjoy being read to. In fact, there are quite a number of books featuring Thomas, Dora and Blue (who the heck is Calliou--sounds French to me) that you could start with those books, and gradually move into books with other characters, and if you're really lucky, get into the "children's classics.
NOTE: Count your blessings that they're not hooked on Barney...from all reports I've gotten, that is not in any way "super-de-duper."
3) If all else fails, introduce them to a couple good Three Stooges videos. Actually, you'll be trading one problem for another...but you'll enjoy them more than episodes of Dora.
Good luck, my friend...Nick Jr. is a powerful force to battle.

My two granddaughters, ages 29 months and 16 months, watch those as well as Mickey Mouse, the Doodlebops, the Wiggles, Deigo, Backyardigans, Dragontales, Lazy Town, and Shrek 1 & 2 and the whole Baby Einstein series over and over! My whole day is toons and kiddie shows. Its normal childhood behavior and will end as soon as they get bored with it. Im not sure which Boobah is, but if something in it scares you or makes you feel uncomfortable about your child watching it, then dont let her. Sure she will protest, maybe even scream and cry and pout and try to put you on a guilt trip. My granddaughters did when we said "no Spongebob", that is normal too, but its easy to get them over that reaction, just find something distracting before time for the show in question, turn the tv off or to what you prefer to watch, and soon enough she will forget that show. try coloring books/art supplies, interactive toys etc, something wil catch her eye besides Boobah. Hope that helps.

My daughter loves Dora, and so when I'm running errands with her and stuff I'll turn it into a Dora plot:
"OK, go skating, we have to drive to the rink, walk through the parking lot, and put on our Skates."
My best advice would be to join in in following the shows and even if you don't enjoy it, at least enjoy how much your kid gets into it.

You need to use the "off" button. Maybe buy the dvd's and only let them see the stuff when you allow it. They may throw a tantrum or two when you cut it off, but they will adjust soon enough.
