Is the Wii a good system?

ignore the guy at the top because, first, what is really a next gen console? better graphics doesnt make it a next gen whatsoever, for once that a console tried to innovate a console rather than do "better graphics" like they have all been doing for the past 20 years to me is next generation, second developers are very excited about the console and in fact many such as ubisoft are making huge amount of games for it. you can even connect wirelessly with the ds.

my point is the problem with playstation is that it has short term games, i.e i would never play psx games ever because they were all about graphics and now they look aweful, whereas nintendo has got better quality games like zelda on the snes which would never bore me, so if you want a longer lasting console with quality games... get a wii.

The Wii is a great system. The interface is simple, but works really well. As soon as you pick up the new controller and play Wii Sports with a friend, you will fall in love. My friends and family and I have had a blast playing bowling, tennis, and golf. If you are a sucker for graphics, you may be dissapointed. I think as soon as developers start putting more time into their games, they will look great. The Legend of Zelda looks amazing, in my opinion. The remote feels great in your hand, and the built in speaker makes it very unique and adds a little something to the games you are playing. I strongly recommend getting yourself this system!

It's a good system, but it is bound for commercial failure. I will certainly add this little beauty to my collection, but I am certain that it will end up exactly as the Gamecube did, with game developpers giving up on it.

First, as far as the specs are concerned, this is hardly nextgen compared to the PS3 or the XBox360: it's more like a beefed-up Gamecube

Second, although this controller is very innovative, it's going to be rather costly to develop games that could fully benefit from it, so it means that, once a again, Big N will have to solely rely on himself to really outstanding games for it.

Third, the first batch of wii this year (06) will not include DVD playback, which is a big handicap

Yeah its a good system, I don't have one myself, but I did a lot of research on the console before it came out. When you playing a bowling game, your going to be bowling in motion. When you play baseball your going to be swinging at the ball as its comming at you. When you play golf your going to be swinging at the ball like you would in real life. Nintendo has developed something that you can't get on the PS3 or Xbox 360. The controllers very accurate. I have friends who love the Wii.

Very good system my bf has one and we live together. I thought he was a total dork waiting in line for it, campiing out. But as i played it i got so addicted and it is really fun to play w/ 2 people. There is this game that comes w/ the system where you can bowl, box, golf, and play baseball. It's so awsome how you use the controler and u move it, it moves as if you are doing it. For bowling you move your arms just as if you were bowling in real life, same with the other sports on the game you get. We also have Zelda, this is really neat as you move the controller, he moves his sword to the way you move it. Good price for what you get too i must say.

Yes it has a unique controller.
A legendary games that back it up.
I think I'm going to buy one, don't know if Nintendo will launch any consoles if this one not sale.
But honestly I doubt it can compete against other consoles.
But maybe I was wrong, only time can tell about this.

It is the best system ever because you actually get into the game. Instead of moving aroung your thumb around your moving around. Its up to you to chose.

yes, cuz it's cheap and has a new concept for controls and most important of all it has zelda twighlight princess, and u can't play that on the 360 or ps3
