Go to the district attorney with the receipt for the certified letter
and a copy of the bounced check..
The District Attorney should be happy to collect it for you...
Bad checks are illegal...
You need not sue, your employer broke the law..
This is not a civil matter, it is now a crimminal matter...

You will have to take them to court. However what might help you is if you get copies of the bounced checks. This proves the company owe you money. Plus you can also get them for the cost of the checks bouncing. Small claims court will be the one to handle this matter. You can try for the last two days. However that's going to be harder to prove.

I don't know what country your in, but in Canada you can fill out a government self-help form from the Employement Standards Branch to provide to your employeer stating the items owed. If the employeer doesn't resolve the claim within 15 days, you are fully entitled to file a complaint against the company; at which point the government will take action to resolve it for you... one way or the other. As far as union, I have no clue.

Department of Labor will take care of it I don't know the law in all states but in MI you are braking the law when you give out bad pay checks and have the money to keep you business open. I made out paychecks for a sign company. I learned that paychecks had to come first it did not matter if his family had food or not.

report them to the better business bureau.
also check out the department of labor website for links on where you can go and who you may want to report them to. This is probably a violation of the regulations concerning wages, I know there's a page for that on their website, and a contact number for violations of the fair wage act or whatever it is called.
you may want to call your state or local bar association to get a referral to an attorney who would be able to tell you what your legal rights are regarding this.
also, you can call their bank and tell them you have a bounced check and keep calling every day to see if there is money in the account to cash it. If you tell them the amount and the account number on the check, they will be able to tell you whether it will clear if you cash it that day.

Department of Labor and Standards wage division. Your scumbag boss has to pay a huge penalty. Insist on it. Don't let the lazy case worker tell you different. Insist on 30 days pay on top on what the boss owes you.

The state labor board should take your case free. You can also sue in small claims court. Ask for your court costs back when you win your case.
