First, it's too bad they ever get out of jail. Second, they do have sites on the internet you can check to see if a registered sex offender lives near you, but they are inherenlty flawed. I don't think a sign would work. I do think that a real estate agent and local sherrif should tell the entire neighborhood as to what is happening though.

I think any rape victim would like to see them identified better than what they are. After all If they had been tipped off they might not have been raped or their child molested. When you go on the website for sexual offenders it just gives you addresses after you put in a offenders address or name or zip code. It does not show you what they look like when they walk down your street or stop at the play ground. You never know when you meet the nicest person that their son or husband is the offender, they can be young or the old couple around the block or even a man you met thru some friend of a friend and go out on a date with. Our system has some flaws but without stepping on THEIR rights I don't know how to change it. I know what I would like to do but that won't happen.

The problem lies with the system and people's interpretation of what the system is all about.
Mormon practitioner, Warren Jeffs is currently on trail for aiding and assisting in the marriage between minors and much older men. To Jeffs, he probably thinks he has the right under some divine right of religious practice to authorize and preach polygamy.
If someone engages in polygamy and the 'wives' of polygamists become pregnant, those wives become eligible for public assistance as unwed mothers as no state recognizes/sanctions polygamy as a valid state of marriage. The state says no, but, there are doctrines within some religions that permit polygamy with minors, as young as fourteen years old, that are being practiced in the U.S.
Polygamy involving minors should be outlawed and be treated as a felony against those who practice polygamy with minors. This is not a freedom of religion issue. Anyone, who engages a minor to have sex, or promotes such a practice is sick and so is the doctrine they are preaching.
Stiffer penalties of incarceration should be mandated by each and every state and religious practioners who involve minors or engage minors (boys or girls) involving sex under any and all doctrines/circumstances, as the doctrine, should be held legally accountable, criminally and as a violation of a federal civil rights act to protect the children.
It's time for the I.R.S. to step in and any and all monies should be confiscated from any such organization under the R.I.C.O. Statute, preaching or advocating sex with children/minors, religious or otherwise.
If the scum of the earth were held behind bars for long periods of time, mothers and fathers wouldn't need to worry about signs and neighborhoods being prowled by child molesters, child rapists, etc.
If convicted, I think Warren Jeffs will have to eventually shower with Bubba!...Take my word for it, folks, Bubba will get justice.

Castration with a life long sentence Bunking with someone who needs a "girlfriend" would never bring total justice to the ones who have been victims. However it would prevent the perverts from ever having anymore victims.

If this were 2 years ago I would have said to protect their privacy somewhat. But now.....no way!!! My child was raped and I've done all I can do to keep him locked up,un-fortunately that won't happen forever.hen he gets out he could do it again. If there was a sign at least people would know what he did!!!! It's all about proteting our kids now!

I agree with you. But then, we still have to worry about the many that get away with it. My daughter was molested and the subject sickens me. I think about the sick... what ever name you want to call them... (I can think of several) and what harm they do. Many don't feel guilty in the least and pretend to be honorable. Maybe I feel more strongly about this because molestation has affected my entire family... mostly my daughter. They are sick individuals who don't get "better" from counseling or jail time. It's proven that they do it again and again and AGAIN! They should have NO rights!!!! They take away the innocence of so many and yet... we are told we need to consider their rights. It's a bunch of hogwash! I HATE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I think so. I heard about a guy who has to wear a sign that says he is a registered sex offender. They deserve to have to live through the embarassment for what they did. I say that or just kill them.

No I don't think they need a sign, they need to be in jail, If its for child molesting, those states who have capitol punishment should use it, the states that don't have it need to sign it in to law.

No, if they register as a sex offender with the authorities you don't need a yard sign........the authorities will notify you of offenders in your area.
A sign in the yard would hurt everyone in the neighborhood.......property values would drop.
