I am 20 years old, and have a very regular period, but until one day ago I was on birth control. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend about two weeks ago, and I didn't think anything was unusual...but last night i was having some brown discharge with a little blood in it, and this morning too. Now though, the discharge is just brown, and there's a lot of it...Could this just be because I haven't taken my pill in two days, or could I be pregnant? I used to take my pill daily, but never at the exact same time. Can someone please tell me what they think is going on, and the likelyhood of me being pregnant? Any help would be very much appreciated.

This is most likely what is called break through bleeding- it happens when you miss a few pills so stop getting the hormones. It's unlikely that you are pregnant. Do you want a baby? If not you need to sort out alternative birth control.

Its ok, dont panic, the brown discharge is from old blood, probably from your last period. This is what you would call a break between bleeding. Just take your pills if you still want to, if not, your body will probably take a while to get back to normal. Hope this helps, and if you really are worried about this, take a pregnancy test ^_^ Good luck hun

Its because you stopped your pill. When you stop your likely (or should) have a period. Its dark because it is now old blood. Blood that your body produced to prepare for a pregnancy but that didn't occur. That's why I say "old." Your prob not pregnant. Take your pill regularly and you shouldn't have this problem. If it continues, check with your doctor. Maybe you need a stronger pill.

Missing pills always caused the same problems for me...If you are trying to get pregnant I think it is going to take more than one day off the pill. If you are not trying to get pregnant...you might want to look into another method of birth control.

OK, dark brown or dark red blood is old blood. Your body will release this blood and it is normal. NOW, when you just stop taking the pill, your body will have an adjusting time. BE SAFE!!!!!! No matter what anyone tells you, you can get Preg VERY EASILY now. If you are a couple days late, get test! I think you are OK though. Good luck!

My best bet would be missing the pills played a bit of havoc with your hormones...usually no discolored (blood like)discharge if you are pregnant

You should go out and buy a pregnancy test. If it is Negative you should wait until your period is due. If it is late, take another one. If you keep bleeding heavy and experience pain you should go to the doctor you could be having a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

i think brown is old blood. it may be some left overs from your period. but if i was you i'd check with a dr. always if something is going on with your body that you don't understand you should check with your dr.
