My speakers were working earlier! I turned them off for a few hours while watching a movie so the sound of getting IMs didn't bother my fiance, and now they just won't work! Its the strangest thing. Everything is plugged in. And the light comes on on them to show that they are on. /And/, yes, I have the volume on. lol But they won't work. Does anyone know what the problem may be? How do I fix it?

well, just check weather the sound is mute in your computer, you can see the sound icon on the right hand side corner in your task bar, just check whether the mute option is clicked or the sound is low
if no check the speaker connector in your computer whether is connected properly,
or else sometimes you might have to check whether your sound driver is working correctly to do that,
right click on the my computer icon
choose the option manage from the pop up menu
then you could see a new window appearing,
select the device manager tab on that window
if there is any problem with your sound driver there will be a question mark/. exclamation mark
if you find it then you will have to install your sound driver again

Check your sound card drivers. Make sure they are properly installed. You can do this my going into device manager. It can be accessed by right clicking on my computer, then properties, and then hardware tab. If you need to update drivers, you can find them on the manuf. website.
