i have recently made a purchase on ebay and i made the payment with paypal using my credit card i purhcased it 2 days ago and it says the payment has been sent and i made another much cheaper purchase and it was paid instantly. y is that but on the payment thats still pending i used my wifes credit card and her name and it was a higher price than the second one

Is your wife's name on your Ebay account? If not that could be the cause for the hold up. They may be trying to figure out if the card was stolen or not. Contact the sellers you made the purchase from and ask them what's the hold up. That would be the best way of finding out.

I am thnking that you had perhaps paid using your checking account as an e-check. This would give the status as being payment sent. While using your credit card that payment should be paid instantly. You may want to look at your history in the paypal site. Creidt cards are usally used as a back up when there are not enough funds in your bank account.

Check the linked bank checking account, if there is one. You could have paid out of the checking account instead of using the Credit Card. Paypal payments default to the bank account and you have to make a concious effort to change the payment mode.
