Well, I think that it wasnt that bad. They were husband and wife and even then she got mad at her grandfather.

Sophie Neveau is the character. She witnessed her grandfather participating in a pagan sex rite with a woman she later discovered to be her grandmother. After he died, Robert Langdon explained to her that what she saw was sacred, not profane. I'm sure she wished that she'd forgiven him!
