No, you cannot ACCELERATE light at all. Previous responders have shown that group velocity can be 300 times the speed of light, but light is not accelerated to achieve this.

You cannot go faster than the speed of light, but that isn't the same as acceleration. The speed of light can be slowed down, such as going through water, so the opposite is true - it can be sped up. E=mc^2 is the same as E=mass x distance x acceleration of light.
