Hi
Inverting numbers is used when you divide fractions. To divide fractions, you invert the second fraction, then multiply!
To find the inverse of a number, you just flip it and put the denominator on top and the numerator on the bottom! For instance:
the inverse of 8 is 1/8.
The inverse of 1/2 is 2/1(or 2)
The inverse of 2/3 is 3/2(or 1 1/2)
This is one of the rules when you work with fractions! Thanks

Division is the multiplication by the inverse or reciprocal. The reciprocal of the reciprocal is the number.
Hence, the inverse of division is multiplication. The inverse is what it takes to 'undo' an operation. So, once you've divided you can recover the original number by multiplication.

multiplication.... if you divide by 3 to get back to the original number just multiply by 3.... the inverse operation is what ever operation it takes to "hit the undo button"
