My speakers have recently started "cracking and popping". But only when I play Yuri's Revenge. I've tried turning down my bass, slowing my hardware acceleration to standard, turning my soundcard volume down, turning down the volumes in game... 5.1 surround sound Logitech THX speakers. SB Audigy soundcard. Any ideas?

Hopefully you haven't started to crack them.

There are some things (songs, commericals, DVDs,.. etc) that will make crackleing sounds and only them,.. some times it's because the quality is not great.

I don't know what Yuri's Revenge is,.. it might be whatever that is it's self (like you could get a new game, cd, mp3)(((Trying to say get a new copy of Yuri's Revenge but that didn't sound clear))). If it is from another country (like Japanese) there may have been some problems along the way when they changed formats and made copies (plus in Asia Bootleg is VERY common,.. not that anyone notices since the Bootleg companies are of high reputation themselves,.. I think the one that does Anime, Anime/Game soundtracks, and Games that's popular is called something like SonMay).

Finally there is the chance you have some static build up or some other kind of build up in your wireing, electronics or the speakers. For that the most common thing is just a power cord, cable modem cord, and/or wires between things being crossed/touchingPhysicallyNot. Some people find a Hair Dryer on Cold/Cool setting takes away static,.. most homes these days have grounds on power outlets the 3rd prong... this runs to a place that grounds in cold water. You could try running cold water out of a metal facet and touching wires, outlets, and metal on your spreakers on the metal facet (without getting it wet, while cold water runs) and rubbing a little (this sounds much to hard for most people to do).

Try updating your sound card driver, and/or direct X.
