Thanksgiving has been around since the 1600's, when the first settlers landed here on the Mayflower. It was instituted as a national holiday by Pres. Abraham Lincoln. Considering how many people have sacrificed on behalf of this great country, I disagree with you that it is a "pointless holiday". Many of us are very thankful, for many things, including being able to type on a computer, when much of the world's population lives in complete poverty. You are under no compulsion, however, to celebrate it.

Besides which, turkey is a great source of protein. They are also notoriously dumb, even for an animal.

To you Thanksgiving maybe stupid. However, there are people all over the world that don't think so. You want to voice you dislike for the holiday fine but way must you try and take it away from the ones who enjoy celebrating it. You have the option of ignoring it or making a big deal out of it. It is your chose how you what to live, like it is our chose how we what to live.

Don't like turkey and Thanksgiving, don't celebrate it. Lots of things in life aren't NECESSARY, but tradition and community are important parts of our society. If you want to live with only what is NECESSARY, I suggest you give away all your clothes except for two sets, give away your computer and your car and your house, and go live in a cave someplace; after all, you're polluting the air by using electricity that's generated by fossil fuels, supporting the computer industry which uses it as well, and causing the use of fossil fuels for your car and for the materials from which your synthetic clothing is made. Of course, if you use natural fibers, then you're enslaving sheep, or causing perfectly harmless cotton plants to be killed by the millions.

Oh yeah - and grow up, too.

You have the right not to celebrate this holiday, but do not try to make a law preventing me from celebrating Thanksgiving. You are a very selfish individual. I have the right to eat Turkey.

If you think Thanksgiving is just about eating meat, then you are stupid and wrong.

Also, a vegetarian diet is YOUR choice. You are also stupid and wrong when you try to impose your values on others.

I eat meat, all kinds of meat, I love meat.
I eat it every day, for every meal.
Why even have animals on the planet, if we can't eat them?
Someone probably killed that head of lettuce you are chomping on right now.
Wasn't it living? Didn't it deserve to live?
Shame on you for trying to get rid of our holiday!!!

I'll give you a carrot, and you can find something stupid and wrong to do with it!!

Turkeys have it easy...they are only killed in mass one time in the year while chickens and cows are slaughtered all year round haha...by the way you'll never outlaw thanksgiving.
